Tattoo Aftercare

Caring for your new tattoo:

     - Treat your new tattoo as an open wound.

     - Keep it clean and DO NOT touch healing tattoos with dirty hands.

     - Before cleaning the tattoo, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.

     - After 2 hours, carefully remove the gauze bandage and tape.

*If the gauze sticks, use a tiny bit of warm water to remove it. DO NOT RIP OFF.

     - Using mild soap and cool water, gently and carefully clean the tattooed area and pat it dry.

*DO NOT RUB with a wash cloth or towel.

     - Apply a thin later of fragrance free lotion.

     - Repeat cleaning and application of lotion 2-4 times a day until fully healed.

     - Healing can take up to 10-14 days depending on the size of the tattoo.

*As it heals, expect it peeling like a sun burnt skin. DO NOT PICK AT SCABS.

     - Avoid sunburn, salt and chlorine (pool water), hot tubs, saunas and steam baths while the tattoo is healing.

*Showering is OK--tattoo can get wet but it should not be soaked.

     - Itching is to be expected. DO NOT SCRATCH THE TATTOO.
